Environment

We take our environmental responsibility very seriously

In an industry which by it’s very nature consumes considerable resources and is a highly visible contributor to the waste stream, design for sustainability remains one of our core values.

Not only do we believe this is the right thing to do for the long-term benefit of our environment, but also as a route to improved efficiency and cost savings.

We try and run our company with the minimal of ecological impact and through the work we do, help others achieve a similar goal without losing sight of the economic considerations.

Below are just some of the ways we are working to minimise the social and environmental impact of our solutions.

Digital Workflow

Our digital workflow includes pre-press and print process automation, virtual on-screen proofing and production optimisation that reduce material usage, energy consumption and waste.

Ecological Print

UV-curable print technology has much lower energy requirements and doesn’t produce environmental ozone or VOC’s (volatile organic solvents) like many other print technologies. We ensure the recycling of all empty ink cartridges.

Direct to Substrate Printing

Direct to substrate printing eliminates adhesives, films and laminates, as well as the paper liner required to transfer them, reducing material requirements.

Eco-LED

LED lighting and display technology considerably reduce energy requirements and associated CO2 emissions, not only through direct power consumption but also transportation costs due to lighter compact forms compared to traditional alternatives.

Intelligent Flooring

Modular, re-useable floor systems and recycled carpet are designed for maximum resource sustainability.

Never Too Early

Our ‘Just In Time’ inventory and manufacturing strategy allows us to react quickly to design modifications, while reducing the energy and resources wasted in producing and holding large stock volumes.

Made in the UK

All our materials and suppliers are sourced in the UK where possible to reduce transport distances and support the local economy.

Lightweight Thinking

The use of lightweight materials reduces fuel and CO2 emissions in transit, and minimises the requirement for additional handling equipment such as tail lifts, fork lift trucks etc.

Packaging Efficiency

Bespoke packaging solutions ensure optimal transportation efficiency helping reduce the size and number of vehicles required.

Logical Transport

Where possible we optimise our transport logistics to reduce the amount of journeys undertaken with an empty vehicle.

Marketing

Our digitally-led marketing strategy ensures our customers always have the most up do date information while reducing material resources and postage.

Re-Use > Recycle

We believe recycling should only be considered if re-use is no longer an option. Our modular design approach and durable production encourages re-use and re-deployment, increasing the useful lifespan of our products.

100% Recyclable Packaging

All our packaging is 100% recyclable, often in the same materials as the product itself. This further simplifies the end of life disposal and recyclability.

Design for Disassembly

The design of systems with minimal mixed materials and solely mechanical fixings helps facilitate disassembly for recycling at the end of the product’s useful life.

High Standards

As a company we are working towards accreditation for BS 8901 (Specification For A Sustainable Event Management System). This recently developed standard provides a framework of good practice and defines the requirements for a sustainable event management system to ensure an enduring and balanced approach to economic activity, environmental responsibility and social progress.

We also hope to be among the first companies to implement the international standard ISO 20121 Sustainability in Event Management when it is finalised in 2012.
